Hosting a large catering event can be stressful, especially when it comes down to selecting a dinner menu. Guests are most eager to know what food and drinks will be served at your event and whether they’ll be at different stations, served or buffet style. You may have even considered preparing the food yourself, but realized how arduous and time consuming of a task that would be. Ready to hire a catering company for your event? Here’s the breakdown of your catering style options.
Catering Options
Seating/Plated Dining Option
Plated catering is most appropriate for more formal events that require guests to be seated for a duration of time. As the guests remain seated, servers bring out their meals in designated courses, ranging from hors d’oeuvres to entree and dessert. Using response cards, our caterers and staff at Pig Roast Catering will know and prepare the exact amount of food necessary for the event. Our full event planning services include friendly and accommodating wait staff that will prepare place settings, rental equipment and bar services, as well as decor.
Buffet Option
Buffet catering consists of long tables that contain serving dishes with all food options readily available for guests. Guests serve themselves by passing down the line single-file to each food dish. Our Pig Roast Catering wait staff will be there to describe each dish to the guest and to serve portions on their plate. Pig Roast Catering offers several different buffet options for the host to choose from, from classic with ample barbeque buffet options from “The Homesteader” to our breakfast and brunch buffets including the “Morning After Country Brunch.” During your event, the buffet says open for the duration to allow guests to get their fill.
Food Stations Option
Open for even longer than a buffet, food stations are a huge hit with guests! Food stations allow for our delicious, gourmet dishes to be on display at different stations sorted by category. This may include entrees in one area of your event and desserts in another. This allows your guests to roam more freely and discover different foods, from our Porchetta Station with delicious roasted porchetta, to our Poutine Station and finish off at the Beaver Paddles Bar for a Canadian, sweet treat.
During plated catering, guests would have to pause dancing or networking for a period of time to eat. With food stations, guests can choose to roam about and stop for a snack or a meal when they’re hungry. Guests can watch our Pig Roast Catering chefs prepare their dishes right in front of them, which makes for an entertaining and exciting addition to your event.
Consider how you’d like your event to flow, and with either catering option you choose, Pig Roast Catering will make it perfectly fall into place. Our catering menus are equally delicious and come equipped with a friendly, entertaining and accommodating wait staff. Need decor and help setting up your event? We do it all!
